AmTrykes®

AMBUCS™ believes every person should have a bike to ride. The fun and freedom of riding your own bike is something everyone should be able to enjoy. Now, thanks to the AmTryke® therapeutic tricycle, even individuals who are unable to operate a traditional bike can finally realize this wonderful experience. To date over 15,000 AmTrykes® have been distributed around the world.

AMBUCS™ with the help of physical and occupational therapist across the country have developed a wide range of therapeutic cycles, AmTrykes®, for very young children or anyone with a mobility issue. These unique cycles, which can be hand and/or foot operated, are designed to accommodate riders of all ages, sizes and with varying degrees of physical limitations. While the bikes in their standard form will work for most children we realize that many children require further adaptations for the bike to work for them. AmTryke, LLC has developed a line of accessory items to further adapt a trike to a child’s specific needs. You can check these accessories out at ambucs.org in the AmTryke® Catalog.

Both physical and occupational therapist acknowledge the AmTryke® has many therapeutic benefits including improved motor skills, strength development and mostly the improved self-esteem from being able to go for a bike ride with their family.

Just a few of the AmTryke® models available are shown above. To see all the models and accessories available please refer to the AmTryke® Store or our AmTryke® Catalog on the National AMBUCS website.

For those AmTryke® candidates that are not close to one of the 135 local AMBUCS Chapters in over 30 states, there is the National Wish List. Please refer to the Wish List under the AmTryke area at AMBUCS.org.

The bike is one of the newer models, the JT-2300 Recumbent Foot Cycle with under seat steering, 21-speeds, and comfortable, easy access hammock seat. Russell will enjoy riding this bike. Joining us for the presentation were members of Country Financial, and Growmark’s veteran support group. Pictures include Russell: on his bike, with friends and family, and with Cornbelt AMBUCS members who attended the presentation. Russell, thanks for your service!
